Sitting on the shelf is not for me...
I attended a Marriage and Singles' seminar last Saturday. I found it very useful and insightful for the future as my desire is be married when the time is right, to the right person - my lock - I'm the right key!
One of the things I took away from the seminar was to not lose time dwelling on who, or when my spouse would manifest and make an appearance. Naming and claiming someone I may have had my eye on either did not mean that particular individual was my other half either. Being focused on my growing in faith while working toward presenting myself as a 'gift' for the 'one' who is to make me complete would prove to be more purposeful than becoming so besotted with the idea of marriage that the subject is turned into idolatry.
So, while this 'work in progress' carries on with one's day to business of being a (presently single) parent and being a bread winner, I'm trusting and putting my faith in God to supply all my needs as his grace sustains me. Without his mercy my lifestyle would definitely have certainly taken a turn for the worst.
I'm just curious to know are there others out there who share my sentiments like the Word suggests, "God did not make man to be alone", or do you believe that living out a lifestyle similar to that of Paul in the Bible is what more of us mere mortals should adopt!?
Let's get debating...
